About the role

Skylift Crane Services (Aust) Pty Ltd is seeking experienced Truck Drivers to join our team on a full-time basis at our Clayton, VIC location. In this role, you will be responsible for safely operating and transporting heavy machinery, equipment, and materials to various construction and industrial sites across Victoria. As a Truck Driver, you will play a crucial part in our operations, ensuring that all deliveries are completed on time, safely, and in compliance with all relevant regulations. What you'll be doing

• Operating heavy vehicles safely and efficiently, adhering to all traffic laws and safety regulations

• Transporting cranes, plant machinery, and construction equipment to client sites throughout Victoria

• Conducting pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure all equipment is in proper working condition

• Loading, unloading, and securing cargo using appropriate methods and equipment to prevent damage

• Maintaining accurate logbooks and documentation relating to deliveries, hours of service, and vehicle maintenance through automated operations system

• Communicating effectively with supervisors, clients, and site personnel to ensure smooth operations

• Following all company policies and safety procedures, including site inductions and safety briefings

• Maintaining a professional appearance and demeanour when interacting with clients and the public

• Responding promptly to any mechanical issues or emergencies whilst on the road

What we're looking for

• Valid Heavy Rigid (HR) or Heavy Combination (HC) driver's license with a clean driving record

• Proven experience operating heavy vehicles in construction or plant transport sectors

• Strong knowledge of vehicle safety regulations, load securing, and road rules compliance

• Excellent spatial awareness and the ability to navigate complex construction sites safely

• Professional communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with team members and clients

• Reliability and punctuality, with a commitment to meeting delivery schedules

• Physical fitness and the ability to perform loading and unloading tasks as required

• A proactive approach to safety and a strong commitment to preventing incidents

• Current First Aid Certificate is desirable

• Experience with heavy machinery transport or crane operations is highly desirable
