Cook - Childcare Centre

We are seeking a Cook to work the hours 8.00am to 2.00pm  - Monday to Friday on a permanent employment basis. The successful candidate will have experience in a commercial cooking environment and be able to communicate effectively with colleagues, children and families. You will develop and prepare seasonal nutritious menus and be responsible for ordering and managing food budgets. Having a passion and positive attitude for children's food and nutrition is essential.

Your Workplace: East Malvern Early Learning Centre is a small privately owned long day care centre educating 50 children per day. We have been assessed by ACECQA and we have received the rating of EXCEEDING NATIONAL QUALITY in ALL 7 Areas. This is a rating reserved for only a few childcare services - you are assured to be joining a team of professional educators and a learning environment second to none.

To be considered for this position, you must have: 

• Cooking experience; catering for up to 50 children per day. (our preference is for candidate to have experience cooking in a childcare service)

• Knowledge of Food Safety Programs and Allergies

• Food Preparation and Food Supervision Certificates

• Working With Children Check

• Completion of Foundation Child Safety Training Course

• First Aid Certificate

• Anaphylaxis Certificate

• Strong Communication Skills

• Work references

Offering:

• Pay rate range based on experience: $30.41 to 32 .00 per hour cover all Award entitlements

• Permanent and secure work during normal business hours (no late nights)

• Hours 8.00am to 2.00pm (includes a 30 minutes unpaid lunch break)  - Monday to Friday. Paid breaks 10 minutes x 2 that can be taken in quiet time of routine.

• 4 weeks paid annual leave

• 2 weeks paid personal leave
