About the role
Trailer Assembly Technician | Brendale QLD | Permanent | 4-Day Week
Our client is a custom trailer manufacturer building for commercial and government clients across utilities, defence, and local councils. Every build is different, and every unit meets vehicle manufacturer standards for safety, compliance, and finish. This is skilled custom work, not repetitive production line assembly.
You will take a trailer from bare chassis through to handover and put your name on it. Axles, suspension, braking, wiring, mechanical fit-out and the final quality check, all built from drawings and job sheets.
What is on offer
A four-day week on 10-hour days, with a long weekend every single week
Permanent full-time, workshop-based, no travel and no FIFO
Custom builds rather than repetitive line work, so no two days are the same
A steady pipeline of work in a growing operation investing in its workshop and people
A clean workshop, straightforward leadership and a team where people stay
Tool purchase available through salary sacrifice if you need to build up your kit
What you will bring
A background in vehicle body building, trailer or truck manufacture, fitting and turning, auto electrical or diesel fitting
Hands-on mechanical assembly: fitting axles and suspension, setting up and calibrating brakes, working to torque specifications and alignment
Installation and testing of trailer electrical systems including 7 pin wiring, lighting circuits, brake controllers and breakaway systems
Confident reading technical drawings, wiring diagrams, job sheets and custom build plans
The ability to carry out minor welding and fabrication
Strong hand, power, torque and measuring tool skills
Pride in your workmanship, common sense, and the initiative to ask rather than guess
Comfort with priorities that shift, because custom work rarely runs to a straight line
Desirable
Certificate III in Automotive or a relevant mechanical trade, hydraulic installation experience, and a forklift licence.
