Our client is recognized as a leader in automotive retail and after sales service in Cairns. With a large Used Car retail sales operation, they now require additional Used Car reconditioning mechanics to service and repair incoming Used Car stock and have them ready for sale.

Reconditioning all types of vehicles and light commercials, our client requires mechanics who have experience in the repair of used cars and understand the need to control costs while providing a high degree of repair work to adhere to the warranty requirements of providing top quality Used Cars for sale. 

We are looking for Mechanics who want to work in a fast-paced workshop environment, provide outstanding reconditioning work and enjoy a great work/life balance.

Essential Skills 

• Cert III or higher qualification and as a Light Vehicle Mechanic 
• Developed mechanical knowledge of Automotive Industry 
• Ability to work productively & efficiently in an autonomous environment. 
• Knowledge and operation of all relevant Health & Safety regulations. 
• Are reliable & punctual. 
• Be highly motivated & a self-starter. 
• Have a high attention to detail with ability to produce high quality workmanship. 
• Used vehicle reconditioning experience highly regarded. 
• RWC Licence highly regarded. 
• Air-conditioning Licence highly regarded

Position Description 

• Providing accurate assessment and advice in relation to mechanical condition of trade in vehicles to determine their suitability for resale.
• Diagnose and repair vehicle issues and defects.
• Reporting all necessary work, service or repairs to the Manager and recording information using service reporting system. 
• Always Maintaining a safe working environment 
• Other general workshop duties where required. 
• Periodic engine and vehicle maintenance
• Mechanical repairs and regular preventative maintenance routines 
• Maintaining paperwork with thorough and excellent communication skills 

Benefits: 

•  Generous Sign on Bonus of $2500.00 is on offer, plus a pay structure with a rate of $38.00 per hour + monthly bonus 1.5% of gross you generate + superannuation.
• OTE (ON Target Earnings) $90000 per year.

• 38-hour 5 day working week. 7.30am to 3.36pm standard hours.
