The Site Logistics Superintendent is responsible for developing and maintaining robust processes for material deliveries and offloading procedures in accordance with Voith’s Standards. This position will coordinate and facilitate all inbound material deliveries. With a focus on warehousing, supply chain monitoring, and the implementation of systems and procedures to support the Site Logistics Manager and has functional report to the onshore logistics manager. Additionally, they will support the broader Project Onshore team in coordinating all OSOM loads to site.

The Onshore Logistics Superintendent reports to the Site Logistics Manager and will work closely with our strategic delivery partner (Future Generation JV) and Client (Snowy Hydro) in a collaborative and positive manner to ensure an effective integrated project delivery.

Key Responsibilities

• Coordination of Importing, Shipping and Storage of materials and equipment, in conjunction with Offshore Logistics team and Freight Forwarder
• Develop and maintain a robust process for material deliveries and offloading procedures adhering to Voith's Standard.
• Liaison with local storage providers and facilities in conjunction with Offshore Logistics team and Freight Forwarder
• Working knowledge of Incoterms and providing detailed advice in relation to appropriate Incoterms use Offshore and Onshore
• Working knowledge of International Shipping Requirements, including duties and insurances.
• Prepare and present reports on project status, highlighting achievements, challenges, and adjustments made.
• Ability to manage and support onsite Logistics functions (LUEZ, load logistics planning) for receiving transport of items, including OSOM items and movements and liaison with Main Contractor in advance for requesting supporting equipment for movement and unloading.
• Plan, identify and arrange equipment for advanced movements onsite, including OSOM items (where not provided by Main Contractor).
• Assure everyone within area of responsibility commits to our HSE culture and follows the respective rules and procedures for storage of materials and substances.
• Provide guidance to the storage/warehouse team to ensure in-time material availability at the place of installation and proper storage as per storage and handling instructions.
• Assist site team with identifying and specifying storage layout for inside and outside storage area.
• Guidance on all activities related to the material handling and storage process at site, such as incoming and outgoing goods, related inspections, administration of the materials and parts in the site warehousing software to ensure transparent material status and frequently report on status.
• Work with the site team to identify bottlenecks (i.e. Deviations or missing parts) and proactively develop mitigation measures by involving the necessary parties to ensure internal and external milestones are met.
• Handling of all SAP related processes.
• Initiate frequent inspections as per the storage requirements and procedures.
• Participate in project and site planning meetings.
• Work collaboratively with the Project team (Voith, Main Contractor, Client) and provide advice and support and mentorship as required.

Your profile

• Solutions orientated, with a focus on delivering key supply chain and logistics outcomes with a strong understanding of Chain of Responsibility, National Heavy Vehicle Regulations and WHS requirements
• Tertiary education in Logistics or Supply Chain Management
• Experience in logistics or supply chain management, preferably in a supervisory role.
• Strong leadership and organizational skills.
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
• Proficiency in logistics software and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Ability to analyze data and develop actionable insights.
• The ability to strategically visualize challenges around storage and logistics and enable positive outcomes through planning.
• Team player with strong leadership of workforce and subcontractors
• Previous experience in large Hydro Power projects or in similar industries would be advantageous.
• Drive to broaden their knowledge base through continuous learning and personal development.
• Fully fluent in English, due to the international team set-up additional languages are beneficial

Project Information:

Snowy 2.0 is the next generation of the iconic Snowy Mountains Hydroelectric Scheme. Once complete, the scheme will provide 2000 megawatts of dispatchable, on-demand renewable power and approximately 350,000 megawatt-hours of large-scale energy storage to the Australian National Electricity Market. Voith is the awarded subcontractor, and this role is in connection to this project.
