Position Profile and Role
We are currently seeking a Handyperson to join our team.
The Handyperson supports the efficient operation of SMHS facilities by undertaking a wide range of general maintenance, repairs and minor works across hospital buildings and infrastructure.
The role contributes to safe, compliant and patient‑focused environments, responding to planned and reactive maintenance requests in accordance with SMHS policies, WHS requirements, and health facility standards.

Rockingham Peel Group provides hospital and community-based public healthcare services to a growing population of more than 200,000 people across Perth’s southern metropolitan region. At the heart of the Group is the 229-bed Rockingham General Hospital, which offers a comprehensive range of services including emergency care, acute and general medicine, surgery, mental health, paediatrics, neonatal care and maternity services. The Group includes the Mandurah and Kwinana Community Health Centres, delivering a broad range of health promotion, disease prevention and community health programs to support the wellbeing of individuals and families across the region.

selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy,
applicants found suitable for this position may be considered for
other ‘similar’ vacancies within SMHS and/or the wider WA public
sector. In addition to this, should the successful applicant
decline or vacate the advertised vacancy, then the next most
suitable applicant may also be selected from this process. Both of
these options remain valid for a period of twelve (12) months from
when the authorised delegate endorses the recruitment
decision.
