About the role
The Team
An opportunity exists within the Department of Health for a suitably qualified and experienced Clinical Lead to be part of a multidisciplinary team providing high-quality health and well-being services to young people aged 12-24. The Pulse Youth Health Service is part of the Department of Women's and Children's Services within Hospitals South and is a supportive, cohesive, and highly functioning team that is motivated to deliver excellence in healthcare to achieve improved outcomes for our consumers, workforce, and the Tasmanian community.
The Role
Provide high level clinical leadership and specialist expert advice to members of the Youth Health team. This includes clinical decision-making regarding referrals, care coordination, interventions and risk management.Lead the management of client referrals, intake and allocations and discharge and support staff and visiting services to provide effective and safe services for young people, particularly in cases where there is increased complexity.Actively contribute to the leadership and management of a multidisciplinary Youth Health Service including assisting with the management of specified human and physical resources, which may include staff from visiting services.
You will need
Advanced clinical practice skills and specialist knowledge of adolescent development, mental health, and youth specific service delivery and a minimum of two years post-graduate employment in an area directly related to youth health or mental health.Demonstrated experience in a senior/leadership role within a multidisciplinary team including the provision of professional supervision and support to other staff as required.Extensive experience in providing oversight of clinical services to young people and the ability to manage client presentations where there is a high degree of complexity and the ability to provide expert guidance and support to other staff.

Details of appointment
Permanent full time, day worker position, working 76 hours per fortnight, commencing 21st December 2026.
Notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant.
Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time, part time, and casual vacancies.
Salary
$131,122 to $138,984 per annum. Our Employer 12% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.
Salary range is in accordance with Allied Health Professionals Public Sector Unions Wages Agreement No. 2 of 2025.
Salary Packaging
You’ll have access to salary package a range of benefits including living expenses up to $9,010 + $2,650 in meal entertainment each FBT year + other benefits if eligible.
Allowances
Please note that access to salaries beyond $135,445 is subject to qualifications and/or application to the personal upgrade scheme
In addition, the following allowances calculated on the salaried incremental point may be available:
Professional Development Allowance of up to $1000 per annum
Benefits available to eligible candidates
Travel and relocation assistance support available up to $15,000 for eligible appointees from overseas, and up to $10,000 for appointees from interstate.Professional development and accelerated pathways.A range of leave entitlements, including study leave and Professional Development Support.Fitness Passport – You, and your family can access 40+ fitness facilities across Tasmania for just $14.50 per week per person, or $28.05 for a family.

Registered with the Occupational Therapy Board of Australia; orDegree in Social Work giving eligibility for membership of the Australian Association of Social Workers; orRegistered with the Psychology Board of AustraliaCurrent Working with Children Registration
