About The Role
This a casual administration position situated within The MacKillop Institute team and provides general administrative, clerical and office support to the team. Working under general supervision and following established procedures, the role handles day-to-day tasks and helps keep everyday activities running smoothly.
The administration assistant will provide reliable clerical and administrative support to the team, working under general supervision, and support accurate record-keeping and general office organisation, applying established procedures with limited initiative.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will need:
Capacity to remain calm and effective in challenging situations.Excellent interpersonal skills.A values-driven approach rooted in compassion, consistency, and respect.Positive can-do attitude, assuming full responsibility for tasks undertaken.Strong organisational skills, including the ability to prioritise meeting deadlines.Commitment to high levels of customer service including the ability to remain calm and think clearly under pressure.High skills levels around the Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, Visio) as well as Outlook and Microsoft Teams.
This is a casual opportunity based in South Melbourne, reporting to the Director.
Key Selection Criteria
To be successful in this role, you will have:
Some experience in a clerical or administrative role, or equivalent skills gained through training. Sound working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite of products and general office software. Able to follow established procedures and work reliably under general supervision, exercising limited initiative. Good communication and interpersonal skills, with attention to detail. A knowledge and understanding of Aboriginal culture and values and an awareness of the current issues faced by Aboriginal children, young people and their families.
