About The Team
Join our Cultural Heritage Team within the Environment, Sustainability and Heritage Branch. We are a passionate and high-performing team committed to protecting, conserving and promoting the Gold Coast's unique heritage. Through collaboration, innovation and community engagement, we help ensure the City's cultural stories and significant places are preserved for future generations.
About The Role
As Community Heritage Officer, you'll play a key role in delivering community-focused heritage programs that celebrate and protect the City's cultural heritage. Reporting to the Heritage Conservation Lead, you'll work closely with residents, community groups, government agencies and internal stakeholders to develop initiatives that increase awareness, participation and appreciation of local heritage.
You'll Have The Opportunity To
Develop and deliver heritage programs and community initiatives.Coordinate Heritage Week events, workshops and activities.Create heritage interpretation plans, trails and educational resources.Build strong relationships with community groups, stakeholders and government agencies.Research and document local history, culture and heritage places.Promote heritage conservation through community engagement, marketing and outreach.Provide specialist heritage advice across a range of projects and initiatives.
We’re Looking For People Who Have
We're looking for someone who is passionate about heritage conservation and community engagement, with experience delivering programs and projects that connect communities with their cultural heritage.
You Will Ideally Have
A degree in Heritage Conservation, History, Archaeology or a related discipline.Experience managing heritage programs and community initiatives.Strong project management and organisational skills.Experience planning and delivering events, workshops or community programs.Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills.Knowledge of heritage legislation and conservation best practice.The ability to work collaboratively while also managing projects independently.
