Accountant

Job Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented Accountant to manage financial records, ensure compliance with Australian accounting standards, and support business decision-making through accurate reporting and analysis. The ideal candidate will have strong technical accounting knowledge and experience working in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain financial statements in compliance with AASB standards

• Manage general ledger, accounts payable, and accounts receivable

• Prepare BAS, GST, PAYG, and tax-related reports

• Assist with month-end and year-end closing processes

• Conduct account reconciliations and variance analysis

• Support audits and liaise with external auditors and tax advisors

• Ensure compliance with internal controls and regulatory requirements

• Provide financial insights to management for budgeting and forecasting

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field

• 2+ years of experience in accounting or finance roles

• Strong knowledge of Australian tax and compliance (BAS, GST, PAYG)

• Proficiency in accounting software (MYOB, Xero, SAP, or Oracle)

• Advanced Excel skills

• CPA or CA qualification (or in progress) – preferred

• Strong attention to detail and communication skills
