About Us

Making Lives Matter (MLM) is a local charity supporting vulnerable members of our community through our second-hand and recycle op shop. Every donation and sale goes toward helping people in need. We're a small, close-knit team, and we're looking for someone who takes initiative and works hard alongside us.

About the Role

A hands-on, physical role supporting the day-to-day running of our warehouse and retail floor. You'll collect and deliver donated furniture and goods, prepare items for sale, and keep stock moving from warehouse to shop floor. This isn't a sit-back role — we need someone reliable who gets in and does the work.

Hours: Rostered shifts fall within Monday–Friday, 8:30am–5pm.

What You'll Be Doing

• Collecting and delivering donated furniture and general goods to and from homes and businesses

• Loading and unloading the vehicle safely and efficiently

• Cleaning and preparing furniture items ready for sale

• Bringing stock from the warehouse onto the retail floor

• Sorting, organising and storing donations in the warehouse

• General manual handling — lifting, moving, carrying

• Representing MLM professionally to donors, customers and the community

• Keeping vehicles and equipment in safe working order and reporting faults

What You'll Need

• A full, current, clean Manual driver's licence — non-negotiable

• A current Working with Children Check (Blue Card) — required before work commences

• A current National Police Check, or willingness to obtain one — mandatory

• Genuine physical fitness — this role involves regular heavy lifting and manual handling

• A warm, kind, positive persona — this role involves regular contact with the Noosa community, and how you represent MLM matters

• Reliability and punctuality — we need someone we can count on

• Own reliable transport to get to work

Nice to Have (not essential)

• A good understanding of furniture and collectables

• Experience in a warehouse, delivery, removalist, or logistics role

• Current First Aid certificate

Pay: $34.76–$36.11 per hour (General Retail Industry Award 2020, Level 1–3, Casual, inclusive of casual loading — classification confirmed based on relevant experience)
