HR Manager

An established and growing construction business is looking for an experienced HR Manager to take ownership of its people function and work closely with senior leadership across the organisation.

This is a broad, hands-on generalist role where you'll have genuine visibility across the business and the opportunity to influence how people are recruited, supported, developed and retained.

You'll be joining a fast-paced, project-driven environment where HR is expected to be practical, commercially aware and connected to the day-to-day needs of the business.

The Opportunity As HR Manager, you'll manage the HR function across the full employee lifecycle while acting as a trusted partner to managers and employees.

The role combines operational HR, employee relations and recruitment with longer-term initiatives across performance, capability, engagement and workforce planning.

You'll have the autonomy to take ownership, improve existing processes and help shape the people practices of a business that continues to grow.

What You'll Be Doing

• Provide practical HR and employee relations advice to managers and employees
• Manage recruitment and workforce resourcing across the business
• Oversee the employee lifecycle from onboarding and probation through to performance management and offboarding
• Prepare employment contracts, variations, correspondence and HR documentation
• Manage employee relations matters, including performance, conduct and disciplinary processes
• Coordinate performance and remuneration review processes
• Identify training and development needs and support capability-building initiatives
• Partner with leaders on workforce planning, succession and employee retention
• Develop initiatives that support employee engagement and a positive workplace culture
• Maintain HR policies, processes and documentation in line with Australian employment legislation
• Drive improvements across HR systems, processes and reporting
• Support broader people and culture projects as the business continues to evolve

About You
You'll be an experienced HR generalist who is confident operating both strategically and at a hands-on level.

You'll ideally bring:

• 5+ years' experience in a broad HR generalist role
• Strong working knowledge of Australian employment legislation and HR best practice
• Demonstrated experience managing employee relations and performance matters
• Experience across recruitment, onboarding, HR operations and the broader employee lifecycle
• Confidence partnering with senior leaders and providing pragmatic HR advice
• Strong communication skills and the ability to build relationships across different levels of a business
• Excellent organisation and the ability to manage multiple priorities
• A practical, proactive and solutions-focused approach
• Must have - Australian Citizenship or Permanent Residency

Experience within construction, engineering, property or another project-based environment would be highly regarded, but strong HR generalists from similarly fast-paced industries are also encouraged to apply.
