The Opportunity Reporting to the allocated Trade Planning Team Lead (Mechanical, Fabrication or Electrical), the Trade Planner is responsible for generating and maintaining individual work orders and Maintenance Control Records required for trade personnel to safely and efficiently execute maintenance tasks on board submarines and in workshops.
Your work will play a key role in ensuring the maintenance schedule is fully supported and approved. All planning activities must align with ASC and departmental processes, with a strong focus on safety, quality, efficiency, accuracy, and repeatability across ASC Corporate and RAN planning systems and databases.
Key Responsibilities
Review and determine correct maintenance standards and drawings to develop consistent work packs.· Generation of work orders and work scope in an efficient manner in line with business and work group priorities.· Ensure work can be carried out safely and reliably by relevant personnel.· Liaise with stakeholders to prioritise and revise work plans as needed.· Interpret complex engineering specifications, documentation, recommendations and work instructions to support planning activities.
About You
To succeed in this role, you’ll need to demonstrate:Electrical trade qualification or engineering technician background.Demonstrated experience in electrical maintenance within shipbuilding, submarine, or heavy engineering environments.Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.Ability to interpret complex technical documentation.Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.Experience with IFS ERP (desirable, not essential
