Casual Catering Operations Supervisor

About the role

Reporting to the Catering Operations Manager, this position involves assisting with the planning and delivery of catering services at Polytec Stadium in Gosford. The role is casual with flexible availability in line with Polytec Stadium's event schedule, with the ideal candidate looking to work 3-4 days per week.

Key responsibilities

• Assist with the coordination of the catering program for events, including event planning, ordering, receipt, storage and distribution of stock, outlet / room setup and event day catering service delivery.
• Actively participate in the venue wide event planning process, working collaboratively with the Venue Manager and Event Management team.
• Work closely with the Catering Operations Manager to supervise the catering areas on event days.
• Coordinate the delivery of catering services in a manner which focuses on exceptional customer experience, whilst meeting the company's commercial business outcomes.
• Develop, motivate and lead a large team of casual staff.
• Assist in the development and delivery of staff training and conduct staff briefings.
• Assist with the control of primary operational costs including labour, stock and overheads.

About you

• A sound knowledge of stock and labour cost control.
• Accredited NSW Responsible Service of Alcohol Competency Card essential.
• Accredited Food Safety Supervisor Certificate highly regarded.
• Excellent personal presentation, interpersonal and organisational skills.
• Competency in Word, Excel, Outlook and Internet applications.
• An appropriate level of physical fitness is required for this position given the successful applicant will be required to undertake manual tasks.
• Attention to detail, a customer focus, high levels of energy, willingness to work flexible hours in line with Polytec Stadium's event schedule (this includes evening and weekend work) and a positive 'can do' attitude.
