About the role

The Science Laboratory Assistant supports the day-to-day operation of Hillbrook's Science Department, working closely with the Laboratory Technician to prepare, maintain and dismantle materials for practical experiments across the school.

You will play a hands-on role in laboratory life, working to term planners and RiskAssess documentation, managing stock and equipment, and keeping laboratories and prep rooms clean, safe and ready for the next class.

This role suits someone who brings genuine structure to their work while staying flexible when teachers or students need something at short notice.

Success looks like practicals prepared accurately and on time, laboratories kept in consistent order, and a reputation as a dependable point of support for the Science team.

About you

• You bring hands-on laboratory experience, ideally from a school or education setting
• You understand Work Health and Safety principles as they apply to a laboratory environment
• You work methodically and follow structured procedures, while adapting readily to changing requests
• You communicate clearly and enjoy being part of a small, closely coordinated team
