About the role
Join the Westhaven Team: Support Workers Wanted (Adult & Children’s Services)
Make a real difference in the lives of people with disabilities. At Westhaven, we’re dedicated to creating positive change and fostering meaningful connections through personalised support, empowering our clients—from children to adults—to live life the way they choose.
We are currently looking for passionate individuals to join our team, working across both our Adult and Children’s Services.
What We’re Looking ForWe value a mix of formal training and hands-on experience. To be successful in this rewarding, multi-generational role, you will ideally have:
Experience: Relevant experience in a care or support role. We particularly encourage applications from people with lived experience, and those who identify as Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander.
Licensing: A current NSW Driver’s Licence and a willingness to drive.
Safety & Compliance:
A paid Working with Children Check (WWCC).
An NDIS Workers Check (NDISWC).
Willingness to be listed on the Residential Care Workers Register (RCWR).
A valid First Aid & CPR Certificate.
Flexibility: Availability to work across a 24/7 roster, including mornings, evenings, and sleepover shifts.
As a Support Worker at Westhaven, your day is diverse. You will provide essential care to both adults and children, adapting your approach to meet the unique needs of every individual. Your responsibilities include:
Personalised Care: Assisting clients of all ages with personal care, daily living skills, and emotional support.
Community Engagement: Planning and attending appointments, school activities, or social outings to foster skill development and inclusion.
Mentorship: Providing a safe, nurturing environment for children while empowering adults to maintain independence.
Administration: Completing daily case notes, incident reports, and essential administrative tasks.
Westhaven is the provider of choice for disability support and accommodation across regional NSW. We provide client-centric programs that offer whole-of-life support, ensuring our clients—regardless of age—have choice and control. We are an EEO employer passionate about social justice and diversity. We embrace diversity and encourage applications from all backgrounds, including those from Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander heritage and people with lived experience of disability.
Please Note: To be considered for this Support Worker role under the SCHADS Award, applicants must hold valid, independent Australian working rights, as Westhaven does not offer visa sponsorship for this position.
