Join Blacktown City Council's Governance Section and help community members access information that supports their decisions and understanding of Council services. This role suits someone who is keen to learn, enjoys research and wants to build a career in governance, information management or local government.

You process applications for access to information, search records using Council systems including the Information Management System and TechnologyOne, and assist in meeting legislative timeframes. You prepare correspondence, respond to customer enquiries, liaise with other departments to gather information, and support governance activities including reports, presentations, registers and administrative tasks.

Through this work, you build practical knowledge of the Government Information (Public Access) Act 2009 and the Privacy and Personal Information Protection Act 1998 while gaining insight into the wide range of services Council provides. Every application helps connect people with information that can be released and used to support their needs.
