Independent Medical Examiner

We are looking for an IME Coordinator to support the Health & Recovery Division by coordinating the effective day-to-day operation of WorkSafe’s IME services including examiner engagement, performance management, quality assurance and continuous improvement initiatives.

• $137,963.00 per annum + 12% superannuation
• Full time, fixed term opportunity until 30/06/2027
• Geelong based role (hybrid – 3 days a week in office)

About the opportunity

The IME Coordinator supports the Health & Recovery Division by coordinating the effective day-to-day operation of WorkSafe's IME services including examiner engagement, performance management, quality assurance and continuous improvement initiatives. The IME Coordinator works collaboratively with internal stakeholders, Agents, medical practitioners and providers to ensure IME services operate efficiently and in line with policy, legislation and governance requirements.

Key accountabilities

• Coordinate day-to-day operational activities relating to Independent Medical Examinations, ensuring timely delivery
• IME panel coordination, including recruitment, onboarding, maintenance of credentials and panel records
• Support access to IMEs across specialties, including monitoring demand and identifying capacity issues
• Manage IME-related enquiries from Agents, providers and internal stakeholders
• Quality and compliance activities relating to IME performance, including tracking requirements, documentation and undertaking review processes
• Drive implementation and evaluation of IME-related initiatives, guidance materials and process improvements
• Collect, analyse and maintain IME-related data to support reporting, monitoring of trends and identification of improvement opportunities
• Preparation of reports, dashboards and briefing materials relating to IME activity, quality and service delivery
• Plan & deliver stakeholder engagement activities, including forums, communications and coordination of feedback

Additionally, you will possess the following:

• Comprehensive understanding of the clinical, legal, policy and operational environment (agents, independent medical examination, health and insurance)
• Strong experience in executing quality written reports, briefs, presentations, training and strategic communications for internal and external stakeholders
• Demonstrated ability to undertake effective research and analysis, capture input received from stakeholders to support the development of guidance materials, policy and procedures
• Ability to analyse, evaluate and interpret data to develop relevant and appropriate solutions, ideas and recommendations
• Project experience, scheduling complex programs of work, planning, delivery, risk assessments, gap analysis and management of proactive stakeholder engagement
• Experience in dealing with key industry stakeholders with an ability to demonstrate relationship and performance management with senior stakeholders
• Ability to analyse, isolate and interpret business and customer needs to develop relevant and appropriate solutions, ideas and recommendations
• A tertiary qualification(s) in health or related field will be highly regarded
