Senior Ruby on Rails Engineer
We’re partnering with a growing Australian technology business to find a Senior Ruby on Rails Engineer to join a high-performing engineering team.
This is a great opportunity to work on a large-scale digital platform with real-world impact, helping design, build and scale core systems while influencing technical direction and engineering best practice.
What you’ll be doing

• Designing and building scalable applications using Ruby on Rails
• Contributing to architecture and technical strategy
• Improving platform performance, reliability and security
• Working closely with Product, Engineering and Data teams
• Supporting data integrations and evolving data capabilities
• Leading code reviews and championing engineering best practice
• Mentoring engineers and helping lift capability across the team
• Taking ownership of complex technical problems and outcomes

What we’re looking for

• Strong commercial Ruby and Ruby on Rails experience
• Experience working with complex, production-scale applications
• Understanding of domain-driven design (DDD)
• Exposure to modular monolith or engines-based architectures
• Experience working alongside Data teams and modern data platforms
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills
• Ability to work autonomously and take ownership

Nice to have

• Docker and Kubernetes experience
• Exposure to Snowflake or similar data platforms
• Frontend experience with Hotwire, Stimulus or ViewComponents
