Digital Producer (Contract) — Health & Research Apps

We are Spark Digital Agency, established in 2004, specialising in creating transformative mobile and web apps.

We plan, design and build many leading apps in the health and mental health space for Australian universities and research organisations, as well as working across a great mix of industries including education, large corporates through to start-ups.

With our Managing Director on leave through September, we are looking for a mid to senior project / account manager or digital producer who can demonstrate passion, collaboration, care, attention to detail and consistency in their approach to working with clients and team members, through previous roles in an app, web, software or similar design or development environment.

This is a five-week contract from 1 September, four days per week — with a genuine possibility of continuing at 2–3 days a week afterwards.

What you'd own

For five weeks you are the person our clients talk to. You will provide project and account management to clients, be self-disciplined, and have strong written and verbal communication and organisational skills.

You will be comfortable working in an app, web or software development process, using tools such as the Atlassian Suite including Jira, thoroughly testing digital products, and assigning and managing priorities across our design and development team members.

You would hold QA sign-off — nothing reaches a client without you checking it first. You would work alongside our digital producer and three senior developers who are more than capable of being in client conversations with you. You would not be doing this alone, and you would not be inventing the process: we have account briefs, release runbooks and QA standards documented.

Deliberately out of scope: new business, commercial negotiation, and anything that changes project scope or price. Those wait for the MD.

Essential

• At least 4–5 years project management / digital production / account management experience in a digital or mobile / web agency

• A track record of owning client relationships end to end — not just running tickets

• A high level of skill communicating with people — face to face, by video and phone, and in written reports and general correspondence

• Solid project management skills managing tasks, budgets and timeframes

• Functional, device and browser testing, and the judgement to be a final QA gate

• Best practice use of Atlassian products including Jira, Confluence and Trello

• Experience working in Kanban, agile and waterfall delivery models

• A moderate to high degree of technical knowledge — understanding web and app technologies, and the confidence to talk through integration requirements

• Able to pick up unfamiliar accounts quickly and work without daily supervision

• Right to live and work in Australia

Desirable

• Experience in health, mental health, research or university-sector digital projects

• Familiarity with security assessments and procurement questionnaires common in the research and health sectors

• Psychology or health background

• WordPress, digital marketing, SEO, Google Analytics

• Tertiary qualifications in project management, digital, web or a related course

• Hybrid, based in Cremorne

• Day rate, invoiced fortnightly

• Potential to continue at 2–3 days per week from October, subject to fit and workload
