About the role
About Us
The Cowboys Community Foundation (CCF) is the charity arm of the North Queensland Toyota Cowboys, working to create brighter futures for young people and communities across North Queensland.
Our work creates opportunity, strengthens communities and changes lives. But making that impact possible takes more than great programs. It takes people who can bring others on the journey.
That’s where you come in.
We’re looking for an Engagement & Activations Manager who can help us rethink what giving, participation and supporter engagement can look like for the next generation. This is a role for someone who brings great energy, sound judgement and a genuine ability to bring people on the journey. Someone who can see a better way of doing something, build the plan to make it happen and then execute it brilliantly. Because great ideas matter. But making them happen matters more.
About the Role
At its heart, this role is about creating exceptional experiences that grow participation, loyalty, revenue and impact.
You’ll take ownership of some of CCF’s most visible supporter-facing programs and activations – from our 50-50 Charity Raffle on Cowboys game days, to major Foundation initiatives like our Charity Golf Day, to volunteer programs and new ways for people to get involved.
You’ll be expected to understand the numbers and drive them. But how we achieve that growth matters too.
We want someone who thinks deeply about the experience people have with CCF – what makes someone stop, participate, give, volunteer, come back, tell their friends and ultimately feel connected to what we do.
A big part of your challenge will be helping us engage the next generation of supporters and givers. You’ll bring ideas, curiosity and commercial thinking to how we evolve existing Fundraising programs and create new opportunities that feel relevant, accessible and exciting.
You’ll understand that how you get things done is just as important as getting them done. No role operates in isolation, and success in this position relies on your ability to work across the Foundation and wider Cowboys Group, build trust, navigate different perspectives and bring people with you. You’ll understand the bigger picture and consider how your decisions affect our people, partners, brand, reputation and impact.
You’ll be responsible for:
About You
You might come from sport, sales, marketing, hospitality, customer experience, activations, business development, the not-for-profit sector – or somewhere we haven’t thought of. What matters more is how you operate.
You’re energetic, switched-on and ambitious, but you don’t create chaos around you.
You have excellent judgement and strong emotional intelligence. You know when to push, when to listen and when to change tack. You build trust quickly, communicate with tact and understand that getting the best result often means bringing different people and perspectives together.
You remain calm under pressure. When there are a hundred moving pieces, you can work out what matters, make a decision and keep things moving.
You are operationally excellent. You follow through. You notice the detail. You keep your promises. You know that an exciting idea is only as good as the experience delivered on the day.
And above all, you are a phenomenal communicator.
You can engage a volunteer, brief a supplier, build rapport with a supporter, influence a senior stakeholder and collaborate with colleagues across the organisation. You know how to read a room, adapt your style and bring people with you.
You’ll also bring:
Relevant qualifications or experience in areas such as business, sales, marketing, communications, customer experience or related disciplines will be valued – but capability, attitude and track record matter to us too.
You’ll also need a current Queensland Working with Children Check, or the ability to obtain one.
Why Join Us?
Because this isn’t about maintaining a fundraising calendar. It’s an opportunity to help shape what engagement and giving looks like next for the Cowboys Community Foundation.
You’ll have the chance to test ideas, build experiences, grow established programs, reach new audiences and see a direct connection between the revenue you generate and the impact CCF can make across North Queensland.
You’ll work alongside passionate people across the Foundation and the wider Cowboys organisation, in an environment where initiative is valued, good ideas are welcomed and execution counts.
You’ll also enjoy salary packaging benefits that can increase your take-home pay.
Think You’re Our Person?
We’re less interested in whether you tick every traditional fundraising box and more interested in whether you have the energy, judgement, commercial drive and operational discipline to make this role your own.
If you love people, love creating great experiences, get a kick out of seeing numbers grow and want your work to contribute to something bigger – we’d love to hear from you.
Submit your CV and cover letter via SEEK and tell us why you’d be a great Engagement & Activations Manager for the Cowboys Community Foundation.
