About the role

We are seeking an experienced Agronomist to join our team in Kununurra, WA. This is a full-time position that plays a critical role in supporting our clients' farming operations through expert agronomic advice. As an Agronomist at Outlook Ag, you will be at the forefront of supporting growers optimise crop performance, manage soil health, and implement best-practice farming strategies tailored to the unique growing conditions of the region. This role has a major focus on summer cropping; irrigated cotton & corn, and a winter cropping rotation.

What you'll be doing

• Conduct comprehensive farm visits and crop assessments to diagnose agronomic challenges and identify opportunities for improvement

• Provide tailored agronomic advice on crop rotation, variety selection, planting dates, and field preparation practices

• Develop and implement strategic soil testing plans and interpret results to provide industry leading fertiliser recommendations and nutrient management plans

• Monitor crop health throughout the growing season, identify pest, disease and weed pressures, and recommend integrated pest management strategies

• Advise on irrigation scheduling and water management to optimise water use efficiency and return per meg

• Prepare detailed cropping plans and reports documenting agronomic recommendations and outcomes

• Stay current with the latest agronomic research, practices, technology, and industry developments relevant to the region

• Collaborate with Outlook Ag agronomy and precision ag team members to ensure consistent, high-quality service delivery.

What we're looking for

• Minimum of 3 years' professional experience as an agronomist, inclusive irrigated cotton experience

• Strong knowledge of crop production systems, soil science, plant nutrition and crop protection

• Demonstrated ability to provide practical, grower-focused advice and build productive working relationships

• Competence in using agronomic software, farm management tools and data analysis

• Strong communication skills and ability to explain complex agronomic concepts in simple terms

• Excellent problem-solving capabilities and attention to detail
