Residential Care Officer
About Client: -
Our client, Compassionate Care WA is a trusted provider of high-quality care services, specializing in nursing, community supports, personal care and capacity building, specialized disability accommodation, supported independent living, and short-term respite care. They are committed to empowering individuals to live fulfilling and independent lives.
Looking For:
We are seeking a Residential Care Officer who is compassionate, dedicated, and motivated to support individuals with disabilities and aged care needs. The ideal candidate will bring a proactive approach, strong communication skills, and a commitment to empowering clients to achieve their goals and improve their quality of life.
Key Responsibilities:
· Assess and evaluate clients’ needs, developing personalized care plans to support their well-being and independence.
· Conduct interviews and assessments to understand clients' challenges, offering practical solutions and emotional support.
· Monitor and document clients' progress, ensuring care plans remain relevant and effective.
· Refer clients to relevant services, coordinating with agencies that can provide additional assistance in housing.
· Monitor and document residents' physical and emotional well-being, reporting any significant changes to the appropriate personnel.
· Implement person-centered care plans and provide emotional and psychological support to residents.
· Maintain a clean, safe, and comfortable living environment, including assisting with housekeeping tasks.
· Communicate effectively with residents, families, and healthcare professionals to ensure high-quality care and support.
· Respond promptly to emergencies, including medical situations, and follow established safety protocols.
· Support residents in developing life skills and promoting their independence where possible.
· Comply with all organizational policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements to ensure high standards of care.
· Prepare reports and funding proposals, contributing to the development of programs and securing necessary resources.
· Support families and individuals, including children and people with disabilities, ensuring a safe and nurturing environment.
· Engage with the local community, identifying available resources and advocating for improved welfare, training, and support services.
· Build strong connections with community groups, government agencies, and private organizations to raise awareness and improve access to support services.
Skills and Attributes: -
· Diploma, Advance diploma or Bachelor's degree in a related field.
· Minimum 1-2 years’ experience working in a similar field.
· Knowledge of relevant legislation and policies related to residential care services.
· Ability to work collaboratively with clients, families, and a multidisciplinary team.
· Empathy, patience, and a genuine commitment to promoting the rights and well-being of individuals with disabilities.
· Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a compassionate and empathetic approach.
· Ability to work both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
· Knowledge of NDIS processes and compliance requirements is an advantage.
Job Type & Salary: -
· This is a full-time permanent job.
· The base salary will be AUD 80,000- AUD 90,000 plus superannuation.
Working Hours: -
· Availability to work during evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
