Mount Isa City Council provides employment for approximately 200 employees in a variety of full time, part time, contractual and casual positions.
These positions cover the full scope of Council operations from administration, financial, professional and technical roles to operational positions within the various sections.
About the role
To assist Tradesmen/Plumbers to undertake repairs and new works to Council's water and sewerage infrastructure.

About You
You will have:
•Willingness and ability to perform physically demanding labouring duties and work outdoors in a range of weather conditions. A physical assessment may be conducted during the probationary period.
•Sound knowledge and understanding of Workplace Health and Safety (WHS) requirements and safe work practices.
•Proven ability to work effectively as part of a small team, demonstrating a positive attitude, reliability, and strong work ethic.
•Participation in an on-call roster is mandatory, including availability to work outside normal hours at short notice when required.
•Hold a current Queensland General Safety Induction (Construction Industry White Card), or the ability to obtain one prior to commencing employment.
•Hold a current Confined Space Entry and Working at Heights certification, or the ability to obtain certification.
•Hold a current Queensland "C" Class Driver's Licence, or the ability to obtain one prior to commencement.
•Ability to follow instructions and work effectively under the supervision and direction of a qualified Tradesperson.
•Basic computer skills, including the ability to use electronic systems and record timesheets.
•There are no mandatory qualifications or requirements for this position. However, Council values the enhanced work performance which may be gained from the expanded knowledge base and skills acquired during formal tertiary training and encourage both existing and potential staff to participate in lifelong learning.
