Creative Culinary Lead

About the role

This is a Creative Culinary Lead role working closely with the owner to help shape the culinary direction of Annie's Provedore. This isn't a traditional kitchen role. You'll think creatively, challenge ideas, develop menus and make them happen. You'll have the freedom to bring your ideas to the table, but you'll also need to turn those ideas into food that is exciting, consistent, beautifully executed and commercially viable.

Key responsibilities

• Evolve menus and seasonal dishes
• Develop catering concepts
• Plan and execute special events
• Create food and wine experiences
• Develop new culinary concepts and experiences
• Take briefs, understand the vision, bring expertise and creativity, and deliver results
• Inspire a kitchen team and establish high standards
• Manage food costs, planning, preparation and kitchen organisation

About you

• Creatively driven with a love for developing dishes and exploring ingredients
• Have a distinctive style of cooking and a perspective on food, while remaining curious and open to other ideas
• Understand that creativity only matters when the end result is delivered beautifully, consistently and efficiently
• Can take direction, ask the right questions, understand a brief and communicate clearly
• Have the confidence and emotional intelligence to inspire a kitchen team and take responsibility
• Understand food costs, planning, preparation, kitchen organisation, catering and the commercial realities of running a successful hospitality business
• Understand that a great dish is part of something bigger — the wine, the people, the occasion, the atmosphere and the story behind it
