About the role
This is a full-time Monday to Friday position, with occasional Saturday work when required. You will be responsible for servicing, maintaining and repairing a diverse fleet of trucks, trailers and equipment. The role includes scheduled preventative maintenance, fault finding, repairs, breakdown work and general depot maintenance.
Key responsibilities
Carry out scheduled servicing and preventative maintenance
Diagnose mechanical and minor electrical faults
Perform computer diagnostics and fault finding
Carry out engine, gearbox and drivetrain repairs
Complete general repairs and maintenance on trucks and trailers
Attend roadside breakdowns when required
Inspect vehicles and identify potential safety or mechanical issues
Carry out workshop and depot maintenance
Maintain accurate workshop and maintenance records
Ensure vehicles are maintained to a high standard and remain compliant
About you
Trade qualification as a Heavy Diesel Mechanic
Minimum 5 years' post-trade experience preferred
Proven experience working on heavy vehicles and trailers
Strong mechanical fault-finding and diagnostic skills
Experience with Cummins or equivalent diesel engines
Previous gearbox repair experience
Experience working on European, Japanese and American trucks
Roadside breakdown and repair experience
Current Australian driver's licence — car licence minimum
Heavy vehicle licence advantageous
