Heavy Diesel Mechanic – Dollan Transport

About the role

This is a full-time Monday to Friday position, with occasional Saturday work when required. You will be responsible for servicing, maintaining and repairing a diverse fleet of trucks, trailers and equipment. The role includes scheduled preventative maintenance, fault finding, repairs, breakdown work and general depot maintenance.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out scheduled servicing and preventative maintenance

• Diagnose mechanical and minor electrical faults

• Perform computer diagnostics and fault finding

• Carry out engine, gearbox and drivetrain repairs

• Complete general repairs and maintenance on trucks and trailers

• Attend roadside breakdowns when required

• Inspect vehicles and identify potential safety or mechanical issues

• Carry out workshop and depot maintenance

• Maintain accurate workshop and maintenance records

• Ensure vehicles are maintained to a high standard and remain compliant

About you

• Trade qualification as a Heavy Diesel Mechanic

• Minimum 5 years' post-trade experience preferred

• Proven experience working on heavy vehicles and trailers

• Strong mechanical fault-finding and diagnostic skills

• Experience with Cummins or equivalent diesel engines

• Previous gearbox repair experience

• Experience working on European, Japanese and American trucks

• Roadside breakdown and repair experience

• Current Australian driver's licence — car licence minimum

• Heavy vehicle licence advantageous
