Cash Desk Cashier

We are currently seeking a Cash Desk Cashier to join our team at The Reef Hotel Casino, the pre-eminent centre for gaming, entertainment, food and accommodation in Cairns. 

This is an exciting opportunity for a customer-focused individual, with a high level of numerical accuracy and attention to detail, to join our Cash Desk Department.

Key Responsibilities

• Complete all financial transactions involving cash, chips, and electronic gaming payments.

• Accountable for forms, documents, and files associated with the operations of the Cash Desk Department.

• Provide a high standard of efficiency, security, and customer service.

• Duties may include Chip Bank, Front Counter, and/or Change Booth.

Criteria

• Previous money handling skills preferred but not essential.

• Computer-literate.

• Ability to differentiate colours.

• Good written and verbal communication skills.

• High standard of personal presentation.

• Flexibility with shift work arrangements and the ability to work weekends. Casino opening hours are 10am – 2am Sunday to Thursday; and 10am – 4am Friday and Saturday.

• Neat, concise, and accurate written work.

• Ability to maintain strict confidentiality in all casino related matters, equipment, procedures, and patron information.

• Ability to conduct yourself in a professional manner at all times.

All Cash Desk employees are required to possess a current Queensland Responsible Service of Gambling (RSG) and Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA) Attainment Certificate.

License Requirement

This position requires a Casino Employee Licence. If you are not an Australian Citizen or Permanent Resident of Australia and over the age of 18 years, your application will not be considered for this role.

Appointment is contingent upon final license approval and individual security (probity) clearances from the Queensland Office of Liquor and Gaming Regulation.
