Australian Clinical Labs (Clinical Labs) is one of Australia's leading pathology companies with a vision centred on leadership in science, technology and people. Clinical Labs has over 70 accredited pathology laboratories and 1000 collection centres across Australia and provides diagnostic pathology services to more than 7.5 million people each year.
Clinical Labs WA, SA and NT have been serving the local communities for over 80 years and provide diagnostic services to a number of hospitals and specialists as well as general practitioners. Across the states we have 11 medical laboratories, over 320 collection centres and a team of more than 1300 who are committed to partnering with our referrers to provide accurate and timely results and high quality, patient-centred care.
An exciting opportunity exists in our WA and SA/NT leadership teams for a Finance Manager. Reporting directly to the WA & SA/NT Chief Executive Officer, this role plays a critical part in supporting the financial performance and strategic objectives of the pathology business across the three states, working directly with operational leaders to provide financial analysis, insights, forecasting and decision support to drive sustainable growth, operational efficiency and profitability. The role is full time and would suit an agile, experienced finance manager and leader looking for a rewarding career.
About the role
This role will include but not be limited to:
Actively participating as a member of the WA and SA/NT Leadership teams in setting the strategic and operational direction of each business in line with the national agenda
Working with the national team to ensure efficient completion of month-end processes for the WA and SA/NT business, and supporting the CEO to prepare monthly management reports and financial dashboards
Analysing key revenue, cost, margin and activity drivers, interpreting results and providing insights to the Leadership teams to support business operations, address issues and ensure continued performance improvement
Supporting decision-making through financial modelling, scenario analysis and business case development
Managing the monthly forecasting and annual budgeting processes for WA and SA/NT
Being an active Clinical Labs advocate and role model of the team's agreed values and behaviours
About you
Candidates must have:
Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting, Commerce or a related discipline
CA/CPA qualification or equivalent professional qualification
5+ years' experience in a finance management/business partner role, commercial finance or management accounting
Strong financial modelling and analytical skills
Advanced Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and financial reporting capability
Ability to prepare and deliver financial information effectively, efficiently and in a way that makes sense to the business
A can-do attitude and a willingness to do what it takes to deliver an outcome
Desirable:
Experience within healthcare, pathology, diagnostics, laboratory services or related healthcare sectors
Knowledge of healthcare operational metrics and service delivery models
Experience using ERP and business intelligence platforms such as Cognos, Power BI or TM1
