Steam Boiler Technician

About the Role

This is a hands-on role responsible for the safe and efficient operation, maintenance, installation and repair of boiler systems across our NSW client sites and AH warehouse. Working within our Simons Boiler department, you’ll diagnose faults, keep clients informed every step of the way, and help mentor other technicians as they build their skills. No two days look the same and you’ll move between site work, workshop tasks, and the occasional after-hours callout.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor boiler systems, including steam production, and perform routine maintenance
• Diagnose service issues, repair malfunctioning systems, and calibrate to manufacturer specifications
• Communicate with clients and keep them updated on job progress and delays
• Conduct inspections, testing and ensure compliance with safety regulations
• Maintain accurate service reports and forward these to head office for processing
• Maintain your service vehicle and equipment in good working order
• Coach and mentor other AH technicians in boiler installation, maintenance and repairs
• Respond to emergency site work as required, which may fall outside standard hours
• Assist the NSW Manager and other technicians as required

What You’ll Bring

• Previous experience servicing and maintaining boiler systems, including steam production
• Trade qualification in Electrical or Mechanical (with minimum Restricted Electrical Licence)
• NSW High Risk Work Licence (Standard or Advanced Boiler), or the relevant qualifications to obtain one
• Valid NSW driver’s licence
• Working with Children Check, Police Check, and White Card/Construction Induction
• Reliable and punctual, with a strong safety mindset
• Excellent communication skills and a customer-focused approach
• Ability to manage competing priorities across multiple sites
