Instrument Technician - CSSD

Fixed Term hours available until July 2027 and Casual positions available

Instrument Technician Grade 1 - 4 (depending on the experience)

We’re seeking skilled CSSD Technicians who thrive in a fast-paced environment and values precision, safety, and teamwork. People with an interest in this area who are keen to learn will also be considered and training will be provided.

As a CSSD technician, you’ll play a critical role in ensuring the cleanliness, sterilisation, and availability of surgical instruments and reusable medical equipment. You’ll work closely with theatre staff and other departments to maintain seamless operations and uphold strict compliance with infection control protocols.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform cleaning, disinfection and sterilisation of reusable medical devices in accordance with AS 5369:2023.
• Conduct regular quality assurance checks and maintain accurate documentation.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure timely delivery of reusable medical devices (RMDs).
• Demonstrate high level communication and interpersonal skills.
• Demonstrates the ability to be involved with change management processes and be supportive with the implementation as directed by the NUM or delegate 
• Demonstrated basic computer skills.
• Demonstrates a commitment to continuous learning by being willing to participate in relevant courses and/or education sessions. 

Skills and Experience:

• Certificate IV in Sterilisation Services (or equivalent) or willingness to obtain
• Excellent attention to detail and time management skills
• Ongoing commitment to patient safety and quality improvement
• Ability to collaborate professionally with a multidisciplinary team
• Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Demonstrated flexibility in work locations to include our offsite dental clinic CSSD.
• Ability to work a 7-day rotating roster including morning and afternoon shifts.
