About the role

We are seeking a FOOH All Rounder – Italian Pasticceria to join our dynamic team at Pasticceria Papa in Five Dock NSW 2046. This is a casual position offering flexibility and variety in a vibrant hospitality environment. As an All Rounder, you will be the backbone of our front-of-house operations, delivering exceptional customer service whilst supporting our team across multiple service areas. This role is essential to maintaining the high standards of hospitality and food service that define our pasticceria.

Key responsibilities

1. Providing warm, attentive customer service and taking food and beverage orders accurately
2. Operating the point-of-sale system efficiently and processing payments securely
3. Preparing and serving coffee, espresso-based drinks, gelato, and other beverages to consistent quality standards
4. Assisting with food preparation and plating of pastries and Italian specialities
5. Maintaining cleanliness and hygiene standards throughout the front-of-house and service areas in compliance with food safety regulations
6. Restocking supplies, glassware, crockery, and cutlery as needed
7. Supporting table service and managing the dining area efficiently
8. Responding to customer inquiries and resolving any service issues with professionalism and courtesy
9. Working collaboratively with team members to ensure smooth service during peak periods
10. Assisting with general café duties including setup, breakdown, and stock management

What we’re looking for

1. Previous experience in hospitality, food and beverage service, or a similar customer-facing role
2. Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport with customers
3. Proficiency in operating point-of-sale (POS) systems and handling cash transactions
4. Knowledge of coffee preparation and espresso-based beverages, or willingness to train
5. Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment and multitask effectively
6. Attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness and presentation
7. Flexible availability to work casual shifts across Monday to Saturday from 7:30am to 5:00pm
8. A friendly, professional demeanour and genuine passion for customer service
9. Basic understanding of food safety and hygiene practices
10. Knowledge of Italian food and culture would be advantageous
