Senior Project Manager Redevelopment

St John of God Subiaco Hospital is undertaking the largest and most transformative redevelopment in its 128 year history, ensuring the campus remains a world-class private hospital of clinical excellence into the future.

The redevelopment will enhance the patient experience, further improve clinical outcomes, and expand the hospital’s services through new and updated facilities with innovative technologies.

The hospital is currently delivering Stage Three of the redevelopment program, which centres a new six-storey clinical building comprising a purpose-built Heart Centre, expanded orthopaedic surgical area, four integrated operating theatres, thirty bed Day of Surgery Admissions, and a new Chapel. Construction commenced in early 2026, with the facility scheduled to open to patients in early 2029.

About the role

As part of this exciting journey, we are seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to play a key role in the delivery of the redevelopment and the new clinical building.

Working within a live operational health care environment, you will collaborate with caregivers, consultants, contractors, and key stakeholders to manage all aspects of the redevelopment program, from design and authority approvals through to construction delivery, commissioning, and operational transition.

This full-time position is offered as a fixed-term contract through to March 2029.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the planning, scoping, and delivery of complex redevelopment projects, ensuring objectives are achieved within agreed timeframes, budgets, quality standards and strategic objectives.

• Manage project governance, risk, scope, resources, and stakeholder expectations to drive successful project outcomes.

• Prepare and present project, financial and governance reports, including forecasting, budget management, and performance monitoring.

• Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, consultants, and contractors to support project delivery and organisational objectives.

• Lead, mentor and support multidisciplinary project teams, fostering collaboration, accountability, and high performance.

• Oversee procurement activities, vendor relationships, and contract management processes to ensure effective service delivery and value for money.

• Provide strong leadership and communication to support continuous improvement, change management and stakeholder engagement throughout the redevelopment program.

Your skills and experience

You will be a collaborative and outcomes-focused leader with exceptional stakeholder engagement, commercial acumen, and contract management skills. Confident working with consultants, contractors, and senior stakeholders, you will have a demonstrated ability to deliver complex projects safely, on time and within budget.

Experience within the private health care sector is highly desirable.

The ideal candidate will also demonstrate:

• Client-side or consulting project management experience, with a proven ability to lead major projects from planning and construction through to commissioning and operational handover.

• Considerable experience delivering complex commercial construction projects.

• Proven experience managing construction delivery and commissioning activities.

• Experience working within live operational environments where business continuity is critical.

• A minimum of 10 years' relevant project management experience.

• Exposure to construction projects valued at $100 million or greater.

• Experience working with Tier 1 construction contractors and consultancy teams throughout the project lifecycle.

• Tertiary qualifications in construction management, architecture, engineering, project management, or a related discipline.

• Based in Western Australia or willing to relocate.

We can offer you

• Salary: $160,200 to $178,000 per annum plus 12% superannuation

• Fixed term full-time contract through to March 2029, working 76 hours per fortnight
