Clinician Educator for the WA Intensive Care Training Pathway
Renumeration: Year 1-9, $817.44 - $1,038.13 per session*
*Above renumeration is inclusive of base sessional rate as of 3 September 2026, 12% superannuation and applicable allowances.

The WA Intensive Care Training Pathway (WAICTP) offers a unique opportunity to continue to shape the development of a WA Country Health Service (WACHS)-based statewide networked training pathway that supports intensive care medicine trainees to complete access required training rotations across public, private and not-for profit health services in Western Australia (WA).
This is more than an education role. It is an opportunity to build, innovate and influence, working across these sectors to create new training opportunities, strengthen educational networks and support the development of the next generation of Intensive Care specialist.
As Clinical Educator, you will play a pivotal role in continuing to shape the strategic direction of education, promoting and overseeing the education, mentoring and training components of WAICTP. You will have the opportunity to work across organisation and geographical boundaries, build strategic partnerships, develop innovative education models and contribute to the expansion of training opportunities across WA.

About the Medical Education Unit
The role is positioned within the WACHS Medical Education Unit (MEU), a team focused on strengthening medical education, training and workforce development across rural and remote Western Australia. The unit is dedicated to creating rewarding and sustainable careers in regional healthcare.

About the Role
As the Director Clinical Training, you will provide leadership to the education, mentorship and training components of the WAICTP.
Working closely with WACHS leadership, the College of Intensive Care Medicine (CICM), metropolitan health services, regional training sites, and key stakeholders, you will drive the continues development of a transformative state-wide training initiative.
This role will suite a senior Intensive Care Specialist who is curious, ambitious and development-focused and who is motivated by the opportunity to lead change, solve complex problems, develop innovative approaches and create new opportunities for others.

Whilst this selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy, it may also be used to fill other "similar" vacancies throughout the health service.
