Waminda is seeking a passionate and dedicated Domestic Violence Case Worker to join our Case Management team. This is an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of Aboriginal women, children and families experiencing or at risk of domestic and family violence.
Working within Waminda’s culturally grounded Model of Care, you will provide trauma-informed, strengths-based support that promotes safety, healing, self-determination, and long-term wellbeing. You will work alongside women and families to navigate complex systems, access services, and achieve their goals through compassionate and culturally responsive case management.
About the Role
As a Domestic Violence Case Worker, you will:
- Provide high-quality case management to women and families experiencing domestic and family violence.
- Conduct holistic assessments and develop individualised support plans.
- Deliver advocacy, referrals and coordinated support across services including housing, legal, health, child and family, education, financial and community services.
- Support clients through outreach, home visits and community-based service delivery.
- Assist clients to navigate complex systems, appointments, meetings and court-related processes where required.
- Work collaboratively with internal teams, partner agencies and community stakeholders.
- Maintain accurate and confidential records in line with legislative and organisational requirements.
- Contribute to community education, group programs and activities that promote safety, healing and prevention.
About You
You are a compassionate and resilient professional who is committed to supporting women and families affected by violence and vulnerability.
You will bring:
- Experience in case management, domestic and family violence, community services, social services, health, housing, child and family services, or a related field.
- Demonstrated ability to work with people experiencing complex needs and crisis situations.
- A strong understanding of trauma-informed and strengths-based practice.
- Excellent communication, advocacy and relationship-building skills.
- The ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities.
- Commitment to professional integrity, confidentiality and client-centred practice.
Essential Requirements
- Minimum Certificate IV in Community Services, Case Management, Social Work or a related field (or willingness to work towards).
- Current NSW Driver Licence.
- National Criminal Record Check and Working with Children Check.
- Understanding of mandatory reporting, duty of care and safeguarding responsibilities.
