Financial Services - Financial Accountant

Closing date: 11:59pm AEST Day 7 September 2026 Status: Permanent Full-Time (35 hours per week) Salary: From $112,422 to $129,285 per annum + 12% superannuation                 Randwick City Council is an innovative and progressive Council committed to serving our vibrant community on the eastern beaches of Sydney. Our Finance Team is seeking a Financial Accountant.   Purpose: This role works closely with the Coordinator Expenditure to mitigate financial risk by maintaining accurate, timely and compliant financial accounting records, while delivering financial systems projects and reporting enhancements.    About the role: Preparation of the annual financial statements as required under the OLG Code and Accounting Practice, Australian Accounting Standards and associated OLG guidelines for local government finance. Maintain the integrity and accuracy of all financial information in relation to Council's fixed asset register, including fixed asset management, asset capitalisation, disposals, depreciations, revaluations and integration with Council's broader asset management framework. Preparation and lodgement of Business Activity Statement (BAS) and Fringe Benefit Tax (FBT) return in accordance with ATO deadlines and reporting obligations.    About you: Tertiary degree qualifications at a level in accounting, with membership of a professional accounting body and experience in a similar role. Experience in preparing of annual financial statements, including comprehensive knowledge of fixed asset accounting and statutory returns.
