About the role
Kilvington Grammar School is an independent ELC–12 co-educational school in Melbourne, renowned for its strong academic program, inclusive culture, and commitment to developing the whole student.
We are seeking an outstanding and visionary educational leader to join our Senior School as Head of English Faculty commencing Term 1, 2027. This is a full-time, ongoing teaching position with a three-year Position of Responsibility appointment attached to the role.
The Head of English Faculty will provide strategic leadership of the English Faculty, fostering a culture of excellence in teaching and learning while supporting staff development and student achievement across Years 7-12.
The successful candidate will:
Lead and manage the English Faculty, promoting a collaborative and high-performing team culture.
Provide strategic direction for curriculum design, delivery, assessment and continuous improvement across Years 7-12.
Demonstrate expertise in the teaching and assessment of VCE English.
Experience teaching VCE English Literature will be highly regarded.
Mentor and support teachers to enhance professional practice and student outcomes.
Analyse student achievement data to inform teaching and learning initiatives.
Promote innovative and evidence-based pedagogical practices.
Work closely with school leaders to support whole-school priorities and initiatives.
Contribute to the wider life of the School through co-curricular and pastoral care programs.
About You
VIT registration (or eligibility) is essential.
Proven leadership experience within an English Faculty or similar educational setting.
A strong track record of student achievement in VCE English.
Experience teaching VCE English Literature will be viewed favourably.
Demonstrated ability to lead, motivate and develop staff.
Excellent communication, organisational and interpersonal skills.
Commitment to continuous improvement, innovation and professional growth.
