Workplace Relations Adviser

Master Builders ACT is the leading association representing the building and construction industry in the ACT. We are seeking an experienced and motivated Workplace Relations Adviser to join our Workplace Relations and Policy team and provide high-quality advice and support to members across industrial relations, employment law and construction industry matters.
About the Role
Reporting to the Director, Workplace Relations and Policy, you will work directly with employers across the building and construction industry, providing practical and commercially focused advice on:
·Workplace relations and employment law.
·Awards, enterprise agreements and compliance obligations.
·Employee relations, performance management and workplace investigations.
·Construction and B2B contract interpretation.
·Security of Payment (SOPA) matters.
·ACAT building and construction disputes.
·Industry policy, advocacy and member education initiatives.
This role offers a unique opportunity to combine workplace relations expertise with broader construction industry advisory services while supporting one of Canberra’s most influential industry associations.
About You
You will be a trusted adviser with:
·Qualifications in Law, Industrial Relations, Workplace Relations, Human Resources or a related discipline, or equivalent experience.
·Strong knowledge of workplace relations and employment law.
·Excellent written communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
·The ability to interpret complex legislation and provide practical solutions.
·Experience advising employers on workplace issues and dispute resolution.
·Construction industry, contract administration, SOPA or ACAT experience will be highly regarded.
