About the role

Woodville Gardens Children's Centre (Child Care) is seeking applications from passionate and dedicated cooks for a permanent part time position, perfect for school hours. This is an opportunity to be part of a small team, that is part of a larger team on a school site, supporting up to 45 children a day for meals and preparation.

Key responsibilities

• Preparation and cooking of nutritional meals as per the child care current menu and children's individual needs
• Maintaining all food safety documentation in accordance with the child care centre's food safe handling manual
• Ordering of stock
• Budgeting
• Planning of menus
• Supporting the service's general hygiene within food preparation and other areas within the child care

About you

• Be available to work Monday to Friday 9am to 2pm
• Hold a Valid Working with Children Check, to be obtained prior to commencement
• Hold a valid Responding to Abuse Harm and Neglect certification
• A national Child Safety Reform foundations in child safe training or willingness to obtain
• Have or be willing to obtain food handlers food safety training and supervisor safety certificates in food handling and preparation
• Have an understanding of food allergies and intolerances
• Menu planning abilities advantageous
• Hospitality and commercial cooking experience preferred but not essential
