Role Description The Media Relations Manager is a full-time remote role responsible for developing and executing media engagement strategies that support clients’ brand and communication objectives. On a day-to-day basis, this role drafts and distributes press releases, pitches stories to journalists, and nurtures relationships with key media contacts across regional and national outlets. The Media Relations Manager coordinates interviews and briefings, prepares media kits, and ensures consistent, accurate messaging across channels. This position also monitors media coverage, analyzes results, and provides insights and reports to clients, while collaborating closely with PR, marketing, and creative team members to deliver integrated campaigns.
Qualifications
Strong public relations and media relations skills, with experience building and maintaining relationships with journalists and media outlets.Proficiency in writing and managing press releases, including crafting clear, newsworthy narratives aligned with client objectives.Experience in strategic communications and corporate communications, with the ability to develop and implement communication plans.Ability to translate complex information into accessible messages for diverse audiences and channels.Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including attention to detail and editorial accuracy.Demonstrated ability to work independently in a remote environment, manage multiple projects, and meet deadlines.Familiarity with media monitoring tools, PR measurement frameworks, and reporting on campaign performance.Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Marketing, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.Experience working with regional brands or organizations is beneficial but not required.
