About the role
As part of the Major Projects team, the Scheduling and Risk division efficiently manages planning, scheduling, reporting and risk management activities within the portfolio. This ensures the provision of vital information, preparation, support, and decision-making influence for QR and our delivery partners on critical infrastructure projects including a vast range of major projects such as Cross River Rail, The Wave, Beerburrum to Nambour, New Albion Station, Logan to Gold Coast Faster Rail etc.
An exciting opportunity is available for a motivated and detail‑driven Project Risk Adviser to join the Major Projects Risk team, funded until 30/6/2030, with potential for extension. Reporting to the Principal Risk Analyst, this role is ideal for someone who enjoys coordinating multiple stakeholders, keeping information flowing, and ensuring risk updates and treatment plans stay on track. We’re looking for someone who is organised, pragmatic, and confident engaging with project teams to gather updates, escalate risk concerns, clarify actions, and support accurate reporting.
You will play a key role in maintaining up‑to‑date risk information across the Major Projects portfolio, helping stakeholders, managers and senior leaders access clear, timely insights to support informed decision‑making. You’ll also contribute to the continuous improvement of our risk and assurance frameworks, reporting mechanisms, and project‑related risk mitigation processes.
Success in this role requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to prioritise competing deadlines. If you enjoy coordinating across diverse teams, translating information into meaningful reports, and working in a dynamic environment, this role offers a rewarding opportunity to grow your capability within a supportive team.
