Children's Case Manager

THE ROLE

Women's Safety Services SA is seeking a passionate and experienced Children's Case Manager to join our team on a fulltime, fixed-term contract until 30 June 2027.  

Working within our specialist domestic and family violence programs, you will provide child-centred case management and support to children and young people impacted by domestic and family violence.  You will work collaboratively with families, internal staff and external stakeholders to promote safety, wellbeing and positive outcomes for children and young people.  

Key responsibilities include:

• Providing specialist case management and support to children and young people impacted by domestic & family violence residing in emergency motel or WSSSA accommodation
• Undertaking risk assessments and safety planning that promotes the ongoing safety and wellbeing of children within their family context
• Conducting initial assessments to identify immediate, presenting and longer-term needs
• Working collaboratively with case managers, program staff and key project stakeholders to deliver coordinated support responses
• Facilitating referrals and connections to appropriate services and community supports
• Maintaining accurate case records, client documentation and data collection requirements
• Contributing to quality service delivery, continuous improvement and positive client outcomes

ABOUT YOU

You are an experienced and committed practitioner who is passionate about improving outcomes for children and young people impacted by domestic and family violence.  You are adaptable, self-motivated, collaborative and able to work effectively within a dynamic service environment.  

To be successful in this role you will have:

• A degree in Social Work, Social Sciences, Youth Work, Community Services, Psychology, Counselling or a related discipline, or equivalent experience commensurate with the position
• Demonstrated experience providing case management and specialist interventions to children and young people impacted by family and domestic violence
• Strong knowledge of child development and experience responding to child and youth-related issues
• Experience in conducting risk assessments and safety planning for children, young people and their caregivers
• Sound understanding of the impacts of domestic and family violence on women, children and young people
• Well-developed communication, advocacy and stakeholder engagement skills
• The ability to manage competing priorities and complex caseloads while maintaining accurate records and documentation
• A current full driver's licence, and be eligible for, or hold a DHS Working with Children Check and National Police Clearance
