About us:

Sydney Water is undertaking a 10-year multibillion dollar Infrastructure program to renew, expand & build infrastructure to support a more sustainable, resilient, and efficient water network for Sydney’s growing population. We provide safe drinking, recycled, wastewater, and stormwater services with a focus on reliability, affordability, and environmental sustainability. About the role:

Lead the delivery of accurate, market-aligned cost estimates across a portfolio of projects, while developing and managing estimating systems, tools, and data. Provide expert cost advice and assurance to support planning, decision-making, and consistent outcomes across the project lifecycle.

Your Responsibilities:

•  Lead, coach and manage a high-performing team of estimators
•  Deliver accurate, timely cost estimates and pricing across all project phases
•  Develop and maintain estimating systems, processes and benchmarking data
•  Provide cost advice, optioneering and risk/contingency assessments to support decisions
•  Drive continuous improvement through market analysis, post-project reviews and best practice

To be successful in this role, you will bring:

• Extensive experience delivering project cost estimates across the full lifecycle of civil infrastructure projects
• Strong leadership capability, with experience managing and developing high-performing technical teams
• Advanced analytical, financial and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make sound decisions under pressure
• Proven ability to develop systems, processes and standardised estimating frameworks
• Excellent communication, influencing and stakeholder engagement skills, supported by relevant qualifications in engineering, quantity surveying or construction management
• You must be an Australian Citizen or Permanent Resident at the time of submitting your application to be considered for this role.
