Boilermakers

We are currently seeking qualified crew members with proven experience with Fixed Plant equipment to join our expanding Western Australian shutdown and maintenance teams.

• Review drawings and specifications to determine job requirements.
• Select correct materials for the job to be cut.
• Mark out material such as steel plate, pipe, PFC, etc. in preparation for cutting or bending.
• Cutting of marked out items as per dimensions on drawings using oxy cutting torches, band saw, etc.
• If required, bend items to specifications on drawings by using a press or heating where required.
• Preparing of items using power or hand tools, ready for assembly.
• Assemble job items using hand tools and measuring equipment and tack weld together.
• Measure and examine completed work to verify conformance to specifications before welding.
• Weld components and framework using a variety of welding processes, either to client specifications or to AS1554.
• Inspect completed works and grind, sand, polish to required finish using hand and power tools to a high standard.
• Work with supervisor to ensure all jobs have been inspected before they leave the workshop.

The role is offered on a casual basis and candidates must be based in Western Australia with the ability to FIFO from Perth to qualify.

• Valid WA Driver’s License – HR or manual C class preferred
• Working at Heights Ticket (within 2 years)
• Confined Space Ticket (within 2 years)
• Construction Card
• National Police Clearance (within 6 months)
• Drug & Alcohol Screen (within 28 days)

• Australian recognised trade certification (Cert III in Engineering Fabrication (Boilermaking/Welding)
• Minimum 3 years’ experience
• Confident with Mig/Stick and Tig Welding on various metal types
• Ability to work well in a team in remote areas
• Ability to work with minimal supervision
• Planning and organisational skills
• Share industry knowledge/train apprentices
• Good communication skills both written and oral
• Proven knowledge and experience of Industrial Fabrication
• Operation of manual machine tools, as part of the fabrication process when required
• Machines to be kept in a tidy and well-maintained manner, which would require maintenance be undertaken from time to time
• Punctual and reliable
• Company and customer focused based
• Forklift and EWP are desirable however not essential
• Ability to pass a medical and D&A screen
