POSITION OVERVIEW We are looking for an experienced CAD Designer to join our design team on a
12-month fixed term contract, with potential to extend. In this role, you will play an integral role in bringing our prefabricated bathroom pods from design through to manufacture.
Working closely with our Design, Project and Production teams, you will develop accurate 2D and 3D models, technical drawings and manufacturing documentation using Autodesk Inventor and Vault. You will ensure designs are practical, accurate and ready for manufacture while identifying design issues and continuously looking for opportunities to improve how our products are designed and produced.
This role would suit someone with a strong manufacturing background who enjoys seeing their designs come to life on the production floor.

RESPONSIBILITIES -
3D Modelling & Design: Develop accurate and detailed 3D models of bathroom pods, components and assemblies using Autodesk Inventor.

Technical & Shop Drawings: Produce and maintain detailed technical and shop drawings to support accurate and efficient manufacturing and assembly.

Design & Production Coordination: Work closely with Production and Design teams to ensure drawings and models accurately reflect manufacturing requirements.

Design Review & Problem Solving: Identify clashes, interferences and potential design issues and work collaboratively with the wider team to resolve them before production.

Drawing & Document Control: Manage drawing revisions, models and documentation through Autodesk Vault, maintaining accurate version control and traceability.

Technical Compliance: Ensure drawings and designs meet relevant project specifications, Australian Standards, building requirements and internal SYNC design standards.

Continuous Improvement: Contribute to the development of standardised models, drawing details and design processes to improve quality, consistency and efficiency.

Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work with Project Managers, designers, and production teams to communicate design intent and respond to project changes.
TO BE SUCCESSFUL IN THE ROLE - Minimum 3 years' experience in CAD design/drafting, ideally within a manufacturing or construction environment.
- Strong Autodesk Inventor and Vault skills are essential
- Demonstrated experience producing detailed 2D and 3D models and technical drawings within the manufacturing or construction sector.
- Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and designing with manufacturability in mind.
- Strong team player with the ability to collaborate and communicate effectively across Design, Production and Project teams.
- Mechanical aptitude and an understanding of building systems would be advantageous.
- Strong technical drawing skills with exceptional attention to detail.
- Ability to identify and resolve design and manufacturing issues.
- Experience designing for CNC machining, including steel roll forming, waterjet cutting, joinery manufacture and/or metalwork, would be highly regarded.
- Qualification in Engineering, Architecture, Industrial Design, Drafting or a related discipline is highly regarded.
