The opportunity
We have an exciting opportunity available for an Operations Officer to join the NSW EPA in the Environmental Health Unit. As an Operations Officer in the Environmental Health Unit, you will be part of a problem-solving team working on projects to understand and address legacy and emerging environmental issues to protect the community and environment. It promises to be an interesting and varied position, with the potential to make a real difference to community and environmental outcomes across NSW.
As an Operations Officer, you will be required to contribute to the delivery of projects by undertaking technical tasks (desktop and fieldwork) under the guidance of senior officers and the Unit Head.

About the team
The Environmental Health Unit (part of the EPA’s Incident Management and Environmental Health Branch) is a project-based team that leads the identification and investigation of prioritised threats to the environment and develops and implements mitigation strategies to protect the environment and community.
We work with all Divisions of the EPA and other agencies to deliver our projects, using a range of approaches such as scientific investigation, targeted inspections and environmental sampling, data analysis and research, stakeholder engagement, education, regulation and policy initiatives. We identify priority projects in consultation with our stakeholders, considering systemic state-wide environmental health issues, community needs, trends and emerging issues.
If you are successful in the role, you will be working in a supportive, collaborative, diverse, results driven team, who work across varied geographic areas on significant environmental protection matters.
