About the Role

As a Verse Photography photographer, you'll visit childcare centres and kindergartens throughout metropolitan Melbourne, photographing children aged 6 months to 5 years.

This role is about so much more than taking photos. We believe the best images happen when children feel comfortable, relaxed, and free to be themselves. Our photographers focus on capturing genuine expressions, little personalities, big imaginations, and those fleeting moments families treasure forever.

You'll work alongside a supportive team in a fast-paced environment where no two days are the same.

Photography sessions generally run between 8:00am and 12:00pm (times may vary). The role involves moving throughout centres, engaging with children, and carrying equipment, so a good level of fitness and energy is important.

This position is perfect for photographers looking to supplement their current income, with opportunities for additional work as the business continues to grow.

What We're Looking For

Experience with Children

Experience in one or more of the following is highly desirable:

• Childcare or kindergarten photography

• Portrait or family photography

• Working in a childcare centre, kindergarten, or similar setting

• Other experience working with children

Photography students and recent graduates with a natural ability to connect with children are encouraged to apply.

A minimum of 6 months professional photography experience is required for this position.

Essential Requirements

You will need:

• A positive, reliable, and professional attitude

• Excellent communication skills and a genuine love of working with children

• The ability to work independently and as part of a team

• Your own professional DSLR or mirrorless camera

• A lens within the 20–70mm range (or equivalent)

• Confidence shooting in manual mode

• A hot shoe flash

• Intermediate Lightroom editing skills (editing work is optional)

• A current Driver's Licence and reliable vehicle

• A current Employee Working With Children Check

• A current ABN

• Australian permanent residency status is required for this contractor position
