Senior System Administrator (Automation)

 

• Location – Parramatta
• Employment type – Temporary for 12 months with a view for ongoing employment
• Grade – Clerk Grade 9/10
• Salary – $133,348 pa - $146,945 pa plus employers’ contribution to superannuation and annual leave loading

 

 

Your role

 

Join the Automation, Enterprise CRM and Platforms team and play a key role in supporting and advancing automation capabilities across the Department of Communities and Justice (DCJ). As the Senior System Administrator (Automation), you will be responsible for maintaining and optimising business-critical Robotic Process Automation (RPA) solutions, ensuring automation services remain secure, reliable and high performing.

 

You will administer the UiPath platform, monitor automation performance, troubleshoot complex issues and deliver automation enhancements that improve efficiency and service delivery outcomes. Working closely with business stakeholders, managed service providers and technical teams, you will also contribute to the design, development, testing and deployment of innovative automation solutions that support the Department's strategic objectives. This role reports to the Automation Manager.

 

 

What you’ll do

Support and enhance enterprise automation services that drive operational excellence across DCJ.

• Administer, maintain and support the UiPath platform and automation environments.
• Monitor automation performance, availability and platform health.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex automation incidents and technical issues.
• Deliver automation enhancements and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Design, develop, test and deploy automation solutions using UiPath and related technologies.
• Manage bot scheduling, platform configuration and release deployments.
• Collaborate with business and technical stakeholders to deliver fit-for-purpose automation outcomes.
• Support testing, implementation and transition activities across development, test and production environments.
• Provide technical guidance and knowledge sharing across teams.

  Essential Requirements of the Role

• Tertiary qualifications in a related discipline and/or equivalent knowledge, skills and experience with a demonstrated commitment to ongoing professional development.
• Participation in an on-call and/or after-hours work roster may be required to ensure service continuity.

What we’re looking for

We're seeking an experienced automation professional with a passion for technology, problem-solving and continuous improvement.

To be successful in this role, you will have:

• Experience supporting and maintaining production Robotic Process Automation (RPA) solutions.
• Strong experience administering UiPath environments, including Orchestrator.
• Experience designing, developing and deploying automation solutions using UiPath.
• Advanced troubleshooting, incident management and problem-solving skills.
• Experience working in enterprise ICT support environments.
• Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to collaborate across business and technical teams.

 

Desirable:

 

• UiPath certifications.
• Experience with Intelligent Document Processing (IDP) and AI-enabled automation.
• Experience integrating automation solutions with enterprise applications and APIs.
• Experience with Microsoft Power Platform, Power Automate or similar technologies.
• Knowledge of ITIL service management practices.
