This is a rare opportunity to take ownership of Business Systems and IT across a growing global engineering consultancy. You will shape how ECG works — connecting offices, lifting efficiency, and driving collaboration through better systems, SharePoint and by the practical application of AI.

ECG Engineering are leaders in the Electrical Engineering space, delivering design and project delivery services to the Mining, Utilities, Materials Handling and Industrial sectors with extensive and proven capabilities in Australia, and around the world.

With offices in Perth, Brisbane, Toronto, Vancouver, Manila & Dar Es Salaam, Tanzania & Cape Town, ECG have the capability to design and deliver on complex projects, from early study work to commissioning and handover, drawing on the expertise of senior ECG personnel who have worked together for 30 + years.

You will lead business systems and IT across all ECG offices. This is a hands-on leadership role with genuine influence: writing and implementing new processes, strengthening IT security, making SharePoint works and drives collaboration for engineers, and integrating AI into everyday workflows so teams deliver faster and more consistently.

ECG’s work is technical — drawings, reports and construction design packages. You need to understand how engineers actually work, then build systems that support that work rather than get in the way.

The role is global and will involve some international travel. A key focus of the role building the systems that connect ECG offices and driving collaboration across the group.

We are looking for an IT / Business Systems professional who can operate at group level and still get things done.

You will bring:

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Information Systems, Information Technology or a related discipline.
• Proven experience leading Business Services and ICT functions across multiple or international offices.
• Strong understanding of engineering consultancy operations, workflows and technical deliverables, including drawings, reports and design documentation.
• Demonstrated experience in ICT systems implementation, integration and organisational change, including on-the-ground deployment across multiple locations.
• Strong working knowledge of the Microsoft 365 environment, including SharePoint, Teams, Power Platform, Copilot and emerging AI technologies.
• Demonstrated experience across IT service management, including service delivery, systems administration, implementation, support, incident management and continuous improvement.
• Proven experience developing, implementing and maintaining an Information Security Management System (ISMS) aligned with ISO/IEC 27001, including information security risk, access control, incident management and business continuity.
• Working knowledge of ISO 9001 quality management principles, including process governance, documented information, risk-based thinking, corrective action and continual improvement.
• Ability to develop, implement and maintain policies, procedures, systems and controls that support operational and ISO Management System requirements.
• Demonstrated ability to identify and implement automation, AI and digital improvement opportunities while maintaining appropriate information security, governance and risk controls.
• Strong experience improving systems, processes and collaboration across geographically dispersed offices and functions.
• Understanding of international business environments, with experience in Africa or organisations operating across African jurisdictions considered advantageous.
