About the role
We are seeking a skilled and reliable Boilermaker to join our workshop team. While experience in chassis alignment is highly regarded, we also welcome applications from candidates who are interested in developing specialist skills in this area. Training in chassis alignment will be provided to the right person.
In this dual role, you will be responsible for metal fabrication and, following training where required, chassis alignment on a variety of heavy vehicles.
Key Responsibilities:
Use alignment equipment to assess and correct chassis alignment
Conduct inspections to identify misalignments using diagnostic tools
Adjust suspension systems, straighten chassis rails, and perform welding as needed
Accurately interpret engineered drawings and specifications
Fabricate, assemble, and repair metal structures and components
Keep precise records of alignment work, measurements, and repairs
Coordinate repairs with technicians and the Workshop Manager
Ensure quality repairs and complete checklists for insurance work
Log additional work and communicate changes to the Workshop Manager
Work effectively in a team and independently when required
What we are looking for:
Trade qualification as a Boilermaker/Metal Fabricator, or equivalent relevant trade qualification
Demonstrated experience in heavy-vehicle repairs, metal fabrication and welding
Chassis-alignment experience is highly regarded but not essential
A genuine interest in chassis alignment and a willingness to learn and develop specialist skills in this area
Strong ability to read and interpret engineered drawings, specifications and measurements
Skilled in welding, cutting, fabricating and repairing metal components
Ability to work unsupervised as well as collaboratively within a workshop team
Reliable, punctual and committed to safe, high-quality workmanship
Strong attention to detail, problem-solving skills and pride in completing work accurately
What we offer
Negotiable hourly rate that reflects your experience
Job security with an 80‑year‑strong, growing business
Recognition programs
Retail discounts
24/7 counselling and wellbeing support for you and your family
Regular BBQs, celebrations and team events
Training and career paths
Boot allowance and uniforms
Clean, safe, family‑friendly workshop where everyone belongs
