Barista

We’re looking for a Barista who is passionate about coffee, hospitality, and creating memorable guest experiences at Hannah St Hotel. You’ll be part of a dynamic team delivering a coffee program that reflects Melbourne’s world-class café culture, featuring Square One Coffee Roasters, a Mulberry Group brand.

In this hands-on role, you’ll contribute to a high-quality coffee offering, support your teammates, and help ensure every detail, from service to presentation, reflects our commitment to excellence and innovation.

Hannah St Hotel is home to five distinct venues operated by The Mulberry Group, each designed to reflect Melbourne’s layered food culture while offering something new. From morning coffee rituals to late-night gatherings, these venues are woven into the rhythm of the hotel and the city beyond.

About You
You’re enthusiastic, skilled, and love sharing your passion for coffee with others. You thrive in a fast-paced environment and enjoy working collaboratively to deliver exceptional service.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare and serve high-quality coffee using Square One Coffee Roasters beans.
• Maintain consistency in coffee preparation and presentation.
• Support daily café operations including setup, stock rotation, and equipment care.
• Contribute to a positive team culture and guest-focused service environment.
• Stay curious and engaged with coffee trends, seasonality, and sustainability.

What You Bring:

• Experience working in Melbourne’s specialty coffee scene or similar.
• Solid understanding of coffee preparation and customer service.
• A collaborative mindset and willingness to learn and grow.
• Attention to detail and pride in delivering a great product.
• Passion for hospitality and sharing coffee knowledge with guests and teammates.
• A passion for customer service and team development.
• Tech-savvy with POS systems and basic financial reporting.
• Flexibility to work varied shifts including weekends and evenings.
